A CLEARER WAY FORWARD

What we take
off your plate.

One request. A personal point of contact. Support from your first conversation through your hiring decision.

01

Tell us about your project.

We clarify your needs, priorities, budget, and timing, then prepare a project brief to keep contractor conversations focused.

02

Explore suitable contractors.

We check project fit and capacity, review contractor interview responses with you, and get your approval before each introduction.

03

Compare your options.

We coordinate estimate appointments, follow up on proposals, and request written clarification of missing details before organizing a side-by-side comparison.

04

Choose with confidence.

You weigh the stated differences and record your choice. You hire and contract directly with the independent contractor; we support the selection process.

See the complete selection process +
  1. Clarify your request. Gather project details into a useful brief.
  2. Explore fit and capacity. Ask possible contractor partners about interest and availability. We tell you when options are limited.
  3. Approve introductions. You choose who can receive your details.
  4. Get quote details clarified. We organize and review the stated information in each proposal and send missing or ambiguous items back to the contractor for written answers or a revised estimate. If answers remain outstanding, we explain what is unresolved.
  5. Compare your options. We help organize contractor estimates side by side so you can see differences in price, included work, materials, allowances, timelines, payment terms, and stated warranties. We request written clarification before presenting the comparison. If a material question remains unresolved, we explain it to you first and discuss the next step.
  6. Hire directly. You negotiate and contract with your chosen contractor. Construction, payments, and warranties remain with them.

YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT

Someone to keep things moving.

Haven Select helps arrange estimate appointments, follows up on outstanding proposals, and keeps you informed when options are limited.

FOLLOW-THROUGH MATTERS

We pay attention to the experience.

We record contractor responsiveness, missed appointments, estimate delivery, and homeowner feedback to inform future referrals. These records guide our selections; they do not guarantee workmanship.

A transparent model: matching is free for homeowners. Haven Select intends to earn contractor-paid referral fees when qualifying introductions result in completed business. A referral is an introduction, not a guarantee of workmanship or an endorsement of every project.

PERSONAL SUPPORT. PRACTICAL TOOLS.

A clearer view of your options.

Finding a contractor shouldn’t mean endless phone calls, confusing estimates, and uncertainty about whom to trust.

WHAT STANDS OUT

Three differences worth considering.

  • Budget: Option A is $200 below the $25,000 target. B is $2,500 above it; C is $400 above it.
  • Materials: B includes upgraded wood cabinets. A and C use painted stock cabinets. Each includes the same $1,500 fixture allowance.
  • Timing and warranty: C offers the earliest estimated start and shortest duration. B states a longer labor warranty; that alone does not establish better overall coverage or workmanship.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Choose what fits your priorities.

Review the original proposals with Haven Select and weigh budget, cabinet preferences, timing, and warranty terms. We handle contractor clarification before presenting the comparison. You choose and contract directly with the contractor.

Illustrative example only: these are fictional, clarified proposal terms, not real contractor estimates. All three include electrical and plumbing; appliances are excluded. The fixture allowance can change the total if selections exceed it. Timing remains an estimate.

We clarify material quote details with contractors before presenting your comparison. If an important question cannot be answered, we explain it to you first and discuss the next step.

LOCAL SERVICE. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

A real person.
A clearer path.

Haven Select was founded by Michael Fensterer, a U.S. Army veteran with 10 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer. His background in real estate gives him a practical understanding of homeowner priorities and how renovations can affect a home’s appeal and value.

Whether you’re making your first home your own, renovating a property to sell, or improving your forever home, the right contractor should fit your project and priorities. Michael built Haven Select to help you find that fit—with personal guidance, clear comparisons, and less legwork.

We initially serve Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Rutherford, and Sumner counties, including Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, and Murfreesboro. Tell us your ZIP code and we’ll confirm whether we can help.

Renovation returns vary. Our selection support is not an appraisal, financing advice, or a promise of increased home value.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Before you
begin.

Is matching really free?+

Yes. Haven Select does not charge homeowners for contractor matching. Participating contractors pay referral fees. Your construction costs, estimates, deposits, and payment terms are arranged directly with your contractor.

Does Haven Select do the construction?+

No. Haven Select does not perform, manage, contract for, or warranty construction. Contractors are independent businesses. You are responsible for evaluating proposals, verifying applicable licensing and insurance, checking references, and signing your own contractor agreement.

How do you select a possible match?+

We review the project type, location, budget, timing, and partner-stated services, then check interest and availability. We also record responsiveness, appointments, estimate delivery, and homeowner feedback to inform future referrals. You should verify applicable licensing, insurance, references, and suitability before hiring.

What happens after I submit my project?+

We review your request and may contact you to clarify details. We confirm possible contractor options with you and ask which introductions you approve before sharing project or contact information. We help organize estimate appointments, follow up on written proposals, and request missing quote details directly from contractors before presenting the comparison. You can decline an introduction or decide not to proceed.

Will you help me compare estimates?+

Yes. We help organize contractor estimates side by side so you can see differences in price, included work, materials, allowances, exclusions, timelines, payment terms, and stated warranties. We request written clarification before presenting the comparison. If a material question remains unresolved, we explain it to you first and discuss the next step. We also explain source-supported differences in relation to your stated priorities and suggest practical next steps. You make the final decision and hire the contractor directly. Our comparisons summarize contractor-provided information; they are not technical construction advice, price negotiation, project management, or a guarantee of which contractor is best.

Who follows up on missing quote details?+

Haven Select does. We review proposals for missing or ambiguous information and send focused clarification requests to the contractors. Their written answers or revised estimates inform your comparison. If a contractor does not respond, we tell you what remains unresolved and discuss the next step. We do not guarantee that every question will be answered or verify the technical accuracy of the contractor’s statements.

How do you keep track of contractor follow-through?+

Our private records track responsiveness, missed appointments, estimate delivery, and homeowner feedback. We use that information when considering future referrals. It is not a guarantee of construction quality or ongoing project supervision.

Can I contact Haven Select during selection?+

Yes. Use Contact Haven Select for questions about your request, introductions, or estimate comparisons. We provide pre-hire administrative support; we do not supervise construction or resolve workmanship issues on behalf of the contractor.

Am I obligated to hire someone?+

No. Submitting a request does not create a construction contract or require you to hire a contractor. You remain in control of your decisions.

Can I apply as a contractor?+

Yes. Independent contractors serving Middle Tennessee can submit a partner application below. Applying does not guarantee acceptance, referrals, exclusivity, or any volume of work. Referral terms must be agreed separately.
